Calvin Chan
Dr. Chan was born in Hong Kong. He is a nuclear scientist by profession. He learned to play the harmonica back in high school and is an accomplished harmonica player. Besides harmonica, he also plays several other music instruments, such as dizi, xiao, western flute etc. He has a good voice and has sung in many choirs throughout his adult life. After his retirement in 2006, he moved to Toronto. He has been very active in various music organizations as an instrumentalist and conductor. Since 2011, he has been the conductor of CHEERS. Presently, he is also the assistant conductor for the Yee Hong Millennium Chinese Music Workshop. Every month, he plays music in senior residences as a volunteer. He joined the TCCO as a dizi player in 2017.
